Weird response, but ok? |
The response is not so weird. You are bragging about going to the store 2x week without mask, as if you should get a medal for not being anxious about the virus! do you know that masks are now required in many cities especially in grocery stores (including DC and MD)? do you know that you could be one of those asymptomatic covid carrier spreading it to many people and thus risking people lives? It is not just about you, there is nothing brag about! |
We let ours see one friend and she says the friend is only seeing her. It isn’t ideal, but we decided it was ok. |
I think the answers here are going to depend a lot on where you are located. We're in an epicenter and the answer would be an absolute hard no. There are many, many families here with au pairs and many have rematched over this, but there are also many APs who understand the need for strict social distancing (and understand that it would likely be the same in their own countries right now) and have stayed. Here, even a walk 6 feet apart is totally out of the question unless you live in the same house. Our governor has made clear that the 6-foot-rule is only intended to apply to how close you should come to others when passing on the street or during a very quick interaction, and that it is not meant to imply that any type of prolonged socialization from 6 feet apart (chairs on the lawn, trunks of cars, etc) is ok. Social interactions should be virtual only. It is also mandated that we wear masks at all times when in grocery stores, restaurants, shops, etc. I get the sense that most responding here are from places where it hasn't gotten quite this "real" yet and things are more relaxed. I hope you don't get to where we are! But just noting that the answer is likely to be variable and very location-specific. |
Walker with phone here. I’m in Michigan, so yeah... For my piece of mind, opposite sides of the street works. |
Weird that you see this as bragging, but ok? Rock on with your bad self. |
whatever. they won't be in my house if they stray from social distancing. |
I have no patience for these anti-science morons |
