I feel bad for those nannies. They are clearly uneducated and probably not legal. I’ve been a nanny for years and have never made as low as 30k working full time. I’m usually in the 60k range.

At least 2-3+ years experience, and paying via payroll service where taxes are deducted.

Right now they are Worth their weight in gold! $25/ hr minimum

This is definitely a nanny.

Put your child in daycare. Oh wait...

I made under $30k my first two years as a live-in nanny. After that, no way. Like PP, my range is significantly higher (50-60k, live-in).

+1000

We have had nannies for 8 years and only one of them has come close to reaching $25/hr and that’s because she’s been with us for 4 years.

I’m a nanny, and for the past few years I have been in the $70-75,000 range. I am in a 45 hour per week nanny share and have a degree in Elementary Education. Depends on the family. I have been with single families with 1 child and have made $63-65,000 per year.
Set your rate and you will find a family to pay it. I’ve never searched for a job for more than 2 weeks before finding something that worked for me!

This site is notorious for (self) reporting inflated wages. MB here who's just completed a nanny search. $17-18 is doable, but you have to look to get a good nanny; for $20 you have your pick of really excellent candidates, I've met only one person who asked for $22, she was also quite good and was nannying for several families in a row in a high paid work field, so she had access and recommendations for high income individuals.

Yeah, right. Who is going to believe this. I don't know even a single nanny who is earning such a low rate now.

MoCo here and my friends' nannies are paid $20-25 to start (2-3 kids.) I find 20 for 2 kids and 25 for 3 kids perfectly reasonable. I have no idea of the benefits.

Well, that is possible if they exploit poor undocumented workers.

We’re in the DC border(Chevy Chase), we hired a wonderful nanny for our newborn son, she has 10+years of experience(we used White House Nannies)We pay $30 hourly(before taxes) on a 40 hour guarantee plus all US holidays, 12 days of PTO and unlimited sick leave.
We interviewed about 4 candidates and their salary range was about $30-$35.

I should add that our nanny requested Workers Comp and Health Insurance stipend($350 monthly)

This!! I’ve also found a family that pays me $68k/year with all the perks(Health insurance, paid vacay, sick days and all US holidays). I’d NOT work for less as I can’t afford paying rent and my bills. Cheap labor ain’t working no more.
