What are you doing over Christmas week?

nanny off for 2 weeks. 12/24, 12/25 and 1/1 are holidays per our contract. She requested other days off next week, which counts as 3 vacation days of her choice. We have family coming the following week so she is off as well, which counts as 4 vacation days of our choice.

Our nanny is on vacation, Dec 13th to Jan 11th. Fully paid. We're managing somehow.

My sister is a professional nanny and she is paid for Dec 24th, 25th, 31st and Jan. 1st holidays as negotiated paid days off in her contract. She will take off the remaining days thru the 2nd (back to work on the 3rd). She and her boyfriend always go skiing Christmas week. One year they ended up at the same resort as the employer family!

Employer offered her time and a half for working the week but she would not give up her ski week for anything

It's a great inconvenience, to be honest. But she works very hard when she's here so I don't mind accommodating her.
