So, having a bad day makes it ok to shake a baby? I would have called and reported her on the spot. If she needs help she can get it but the safety of that infant is the priority.

Did I mention anywhere that shaking was ok? I am just saying that the mother may be frustrated and felt bad after doing it obviously which is why she cried afterward. She needs support not losing her child.

This. But, the activists on here would rather break up the home (and take child away) with a zero tolerance approach. amazing.

Zero people have advocated for removing the child. A lot of people have advocated for reporting to CPS. CPS or other local equivalents are not looking to remove kids from the home unneccessarily. That costs them way more time, money and paperwork. Anyone who thinks that CPS is removing kids left and right with no reason is clearly not familiar with the system at all. The reason these parents should be reported is that the current system of support (dad and full-time nanny) is not working. The nanny can suggest encourage, etc. mom to seek counseling, encourage dad to bring it up with the doctor, etc., but she has no authority in their home. CPS can provide resources such as free counseling in some cases but more importantly they can monitor the situation and force the parents to address it rather than continue to flounder.
