See, I am all for vaccinations. Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis A&B, Chickenpox (too old for HPV)... but the flu? While the flu shot is something of a guess, it still decreases the symptoms and length of the flu if you do get sick. Not only that, there is that whole herd immunity issue. The more people who have been vaccinated, the less likely there is to be a serious out break of the flu.

The flu kills every year. Why not get a quick shot and decrease your and your communities likelihood of suffering a illness that can cause death?

Because too many people are selfish and truly (and falsely) believe that they have more scientific knowledge than actual scientists

about 80,000 people in the US died from the flu last year. This is about twice as many people as die in car accidents, yet I'm sure that all of you "anti flu shot" people wear seat belts when you drive and put your kids in car seats.

I love living in California. People barely even vaccinate their kids, so no one is going to ask me to get a flu shot. I believe in vaccinations, but I don’t want a flu shot and out west no one cares. None of the hippies or in Malibu or the celebs in the Palisades are going to tell me to put something in their body.

I hope you get the flu and realize how miserable it is. My elderly parents live in California and so does my sister and her newborn. Most people they know get the shot because they’re not idiots.

If your kid got my kid sick - we know you wouldn’t care because of your aforementioned tunnel self-focus, but trust that you would find yourself litigated out of existence - DC style.

I’m posting on a nanny forum. Do you think DC is the center of the universe? Only people from DC post here? I can see you are triggered by the flu shot. That’s why I love California. Most people out here aren’t going to force you to put something in your body that you don’t want.

I don't know if this is for real and you are not required by law to get a flu shot. But this is about the worst thing I've ever read on this forum. You're lying to parents that you got the flu shot? What if they or their kid is immunocompromised? I don't think you'll understand the consequences of your actions until you have kids yourself.
