Not PP, but I suggest other things, set a timer for how long I will play (not how long the child may play!), or I start doing something else, and the child comes and joins me. Getting out a crayon and coloring is a great way to smoothly transition to a different activity! |
Thanks so much for the suggestions! I think I’ll try the timer. |
Huh? No adult plays pretend games in daycare or day camp. |
at least they have engagement with other kids or the instructors. you all sound like you want to "sit in silence" while you ignore your charge. nice. |
| ^ Silence with children? Pretty sure the sitting in silence is confined to the weekend. |
then why all the complaining about being around young kids while on the nanny job? |
Sweetie, go back and read the comments slowly and carefully. You misunderstood the entire point of the thread. |
You are either stunningly stupid or just a lonely, bored troll. Either way, step away from your phone and go get yourself a little life. |
| Uhg playing pretend is the worst! My bff who is also a nanny agrees. We love taking care of children and doing lots of activities with them, but "pretend" is godawful. Turns my brain to mush. |
it's not about the charges! it's about finding silent time on your smartphone to b!tch on DCUM and get paid for it! sucker NF. |
Wow, PP, you are angry and nuts! OP is talking about weekends and the desire for quiet when not working. I honestly have no clue what you are babbling about. |
| I love silent weekends! Just me and books. I am one of those people who need alone and silent time to recharge. Come Monday morning, I am ready for pretend-play! |
Ignore this troll. She is stunningly stupid. |
