Would you like it if she told you she won't be in next week because she was offered a better paying job for that week, it planned to be back after? Is it okay with youif she randomly and regularly takes days off? Or do you want her to guarantee her time to your family? That guarantee is a two way street.

NO OP. A lot of part-time professional nannies don't get paid on holidays or whenever family is on vacation.

I'm not one for thinking every minute off should be paid, but YES, this time should be paid. Otherwise, she should just not show up the next week when you are expecting her. It doesn't matter if she is supporting herself or saving for a new I-Phone, she set aside the time for you.
