Wow, you have an irresponsible Dr if, after four days of keeping nothing down, even water, s/he wants to wait before giving fluids. The rest of your post is pretty confusing and kind of silly. You are allegedly so very sick that you can't take care of your charges, but you want to aim to be someone who never takes sick days and want people here to give you strategies on how to never call out and be able to take care of your charges when you are apparently so very sick. If you're too sick to work, you're too sick to work. Life isn't going to give you a gold star and a certificate because you have perfect attendance. Get over it. Take your sick day and move on. |

Yeahhhh, I think you missed the part where PP said she goes to work this sick. I was curious as to how, as I didn't think it possible.
I'm not really interested in going into a medical history here and I got what I needed from this thread (PP who made the claim is a lying liar who lies and couldn't back it up; everyone stays home when they're that sick). Peace, yo. |
+1 I think there is something wrong with OP, too, that has nothing to do with food poisoning. I have never read such a ridiculous and obstinate thread about nothing before. |

I also always wonder about the nannies here who say they never miss a day of work. I do go to work sick, but not if I were as sick as the OP. It probably also depends on the employers - I know I was much more relaxed and even encouraged to stay at home if I was sick with one of my families who could easily get the grandmother to come in. It was no big deal to call in sick at another position with a SAHM. In other two positions I never took a sick day because the families didn't really have back up and were fairly accommodating about me being sick in their home, just put the telly on and make sure the kids don't die today, that kind of thing.
So I suppose it's possible to never miss a day. I've never been as sick as you, OP, what you have sounds more unusual and serious than regular colds and flus. If I had a 1,5yo and a 3,5yo and were their mother who's this sick, I'd probably ask someone to come round and watch them. Hope you're feeling better by now! |
| I have never missed a day of work and I have never had food poisoning as badly as OP described. I have no clue why OP is ranting about this. If you are that sick then of course you stay home. Some people simply do not get that sick. |
