Soooo people ran around smelling to high heaven, and diseases/deaths connected to uncleaness were rampant.

Ooohhhh , you're right. Because you just never hear of this very thing happening. Guess you haven't heard, but they STILL open a case based on a report, call, and now there's video. Maybe you should sit in on some CPS / child advocate cases where parents loose their kids, who shouldn't. And parents who harmed their child, didn't. Fantasy? Comical? Not so much.

I AM a legal advocate for CINA cases (child in need of assistance) where CPS is involved because of abuse or neglect. There is zero chance of an allegation of abuse as demonstrated by a parent bathing a child every few days being investigated anywhere in this country. There are actions that can be taken for filing needless/fraudulent/vindictive/baseless claims.

Sadly there is no available penalty for stupidity.
