You have much larger issues than a fictional eternity of fire. Maybe try a therapist, I don't think your pastor is doing much good...and probably quit working with children. Your misguided view of faith is frightening. |
I agree with PP, Christian Nanny. You need mental health intervention as soon as possible. |
You have no business being a nanny and taking care of children. |
What for ? Because I fear going to hell? Doesn't everyone ? I kinda just came to the conclusion non believers were ok with being on fire forever. It scares me but I am a total wuss. |
I don't share my beliefs with my charges. They know I am a Christian that is it. What is the harm in me taking care of them if religion isn't brought up.? |
You also said you would have a problem working for a Jewish or Muslim family. That doesn't make you a good Christian. It makes you an unintelligent bigoted person. Even if you don't share your beliefs with your charges you should have nothing to do with raising children. |
Non believers don't think they are going to burn on fire for forever. They don't believe in that stuff, it isn't that they accepted it. I'm Christian, we go to church every week, etc. I also think that Christian Nanny sounds a little off and should speak to someone. |
This may blow your mind but ... not only do I NOT believe in god, but I ALSO don't believe in heaven or hell. Good luck wrapping bacon around your brain while thinking through this one! |
Wow! We have a crazy one on our hands here! You, my dear, are very judgemental (a word you used to describe atheists and agnostics) and are very misguided in your beliefs. I echo the response of another poster, take a course on world religion, the history of religion, or hell, maybe even a science course! Open your mind and your heart to those different from yourself, otherwise you are not following the Christ that you worship. |
+1. I'm not a christian but I'm pretty sure being as judgmental as this crazy person is will NOT get her into heaven. |
I'm a Pagan nanny that's worked for Jewish, Christian, and Hindu families. Guess what? We are all one, being judgemental and refusing to stretch your world view by working or associating with those of different faiths is warping your mind. No wonder you are so frightened. You take a book of ancient symbolism literally. |
We enlisted her for a series of days, several of which are left over the next few weeks. |
You have two options then. Option A: Keep employing her for those days, and tell her that while you respect her beliefs, you do not want her to read the Bible to your kids. Option B: Tell her she is no longer needed. (Option C: say nothing and make a note of it for the future) |
I highly discourage option C, but I think we'd be interested in your thoughts and actions OP. Personally, if someone brought a bible in to my home to to read it to my children, they would be fired on the spot. That crosses far too many lines for me personally. I already know this will be am issue with my MIL, but that's a battle I signed up for! |
I want to contact you. Come sit for my children. How do I get ahold of you? |
