This thread alone has convinced me of the need for nanny cams.
I really hope it is just one or two of you saying this, but let me echo another PP - sending a 5yo to clean up fecal matter, even their own, is not CARING for them, it is watching them (and in OPs case, neither). It is perfectly fine to guide a child through the clean up process, teach them what cleaners to use, where the laundry goes, and so on, but it is absolutely unacceptable to tell them to handle it and then do something else. This child is your responsibility and CARING for him is your job. The attitudes expressed here make me really, really sad for the children you've come into contact with.
