Letting go of our nanny for 9yrs

1 week of pay per year sounds reasonably generous if you have been there 1 or 2 years. Much more than that though and it sounds crazy. Agree that th e main reason you don't see many 9 yr nannies is since few families keep a/same nanny that long, rather than nannies that are quitting when they could keep a long-term gig going.

I don't begrudge OP's nanny anyway and think she must be awsome for the family to have kept her for so long. But why would that mean they need to cough up $8K all of a sudden. it may be news to nannies but that is still a lot of money to most families.
