Nanny said ex-husband was in prison for touching children RSS feed

Our nanny has a good relationship with me. One day, we were talking about her marriages. She is twice divorced. She mentioned that her husband was in prison for a period of time before she divorced. She said that he was arrested for "touching a child on the head at the neighborhood pool. American families do not want other people touching their children." I inquired if she meant that he had molested the child. She said no, but that the family didn't like her husband messing with the child. When we did our criminal background check on her, I did run her ex-husband's name and nothing came up. I think that this is from a religious non-legal wedding with her second husband and do not have his name. While she has been divorced from him, I would like the information, in case he did indeed molest a child. To me, this is a character issue. Personally, I would not hire a nanny with a partner who was convicted of any crimes against children. What would you do?

nothing, unless you are planning to hire her ex-husband.

as for the character issue, would you like to be fired because years ago your ex did something wrong?

She lied. No one goes to jail for touching a child on the head.

Stop making up stories.

Why not?? This whole story is absurd. I wonder if someone just made this up it is so outrageous.

Why would you not hire a nanny who has a bad husband?? Unless the your child would be watched in their home, what is the problem here?

The fact they've been divorced makes everything else written meaningless, even if it were a rel post.

If she stayed married to him I could maybe never stand your concern.
