Help! New nanny just started on Tuesday. She has guaranteed hours and also Labor Day as a
paid holiday. Do we pay for Labor Day of her first day was on Tuesday? |
| No, don't pay her. She wasn't your employee on Monday if her start day was Tuesday. |
| If Monday wasn't Labor Day, would she have started Monday instead of Tuesday? If so, I would say yes. |

This. Also, it won't be much money for you but it'll probably go a long way in showing your nanny you are a generous employer. And with a few exceptions, if you're treating your nanny right she will reciprocate. |
You're treating the nanny right if you pay her from her start date. Tuesday. |
| You could split the difference and pay her a half day. |
| You said she has guaranteed hours, so why should not pay! Off course pay her! |
|
I say pay her, it may or may no show in her work, but she I'll notice she wasn't paid and probably think your pretty cheap...
I know in the past working for super cheap employers really effects our relationship. |
| Woops, rephrased what I said and didn't take out 'I'll'. My bad. |
| You said she has guaranteed hours, so why should you not pay! Off course pay her! |
| Is a federal holiday, you have to pay her for sure. |
|
I was all set to tell you to pay her.
But if she didn't start until Tuesday, I don't think you need to pay her.as a nanny, I'd feel weird about getting paid for a day before I started the job. |
Clearly you can't read. Nanny didn't officially start until Tuesday. |
| Her start date was Tuesday. Pay from Tuesday. |
