I haven't interviewed in over 2 years and I have a phone interview this afternoon. What are good questions to ask during a phone interview and what should be saved for the in person interview? Thank you!

I use the phone interview to address my deal breakers, of course in a tactful way. I'll ask about the children and the family a bit, but I am sure to ask about the hours, pay range, whether they plan to pay legally, etc. to get a feel for whether an in person interview is worth my time and gas.

MB here, so I might not be as helpful as a nanny, but how about:
- ask their history in hiring/retaining a nanny
- how they would describe their parenting style
- ask what is most important to them in a nanny - what are their "must haves"
- ask about the personalities of their child(ren) - what are they like, what do they enjoy, etc...
- maybe ask what a "typical" day in their house would be like

Obviously all the basics of compensation, benefits, hours, etc... But hopefully they'll be good about being organized and professional with their side of things.

Good luck!
