| Looking for some input! My MB is nursing her newborn (2 weeks old) she has started to "cluster feed" wanting to nurse after 1hour or so. But, she only nurses for 10-20 min on one side. Then next feeding (supposed to be every 2-3 hrs) on the other side. Has anyone done this or known of someone to nurse this way? I nursed all 3 of my own and have worked for a hand full of moms that always fed on both sides at each feeding. Including myself. |
| Why do you care how she nurses? How does it affect you? |
Just another "nanny" on this site who thinks she's better than every MB ever. So sick of them |
| OP, you should totally tell her she's Doing it completely wrong (even if the baby seems happy) Thank god you are there to intervene before she screws this kid up!! |
| Stop copying/pasting posts from NCT. The original poster was genuinely wondering if it was normal to nurse from only one side and was worried that the baby might not be getting enough to eat. |
I have to agree...This is an odd question.
|
| Seriously, this is one thing we nannies should absolutely stay out/of. |
| I also want to say I have no idea what side my mb's have nursed on or for how long. Even when I've been in the same room while they nursed. |
| I've nursed 4 of my own and have never nursed both sides except at bedtime. This is completely normal for a newborn who's stomach is no bigger than a small egg. But you know, you nursed 3 so you are the authority on this. Not us IBCLC's. |

So freaking obnoxious. Of course the alternating side approach works and is quite standard.
