How far in advance to line up nanny/regular pt babysitter?

I am currently pregnant with DC 2 who is expected towards the end of Sept. I will need some help at home caring for the newborn. I'm looking for about 15 hours a week on a fixed schedule. How far in advance do people usually set up such a scenario? We have never hired help like this with the exception of date night babysitters.
