What was your shortest time frame in being a nanny. RSS feed

Once I started working for a family, it was pure hell. I quit after 3 months, I went to the park one day without the older child. One of the nannies approached
me and asked me " So how is it going?" I guess she saw the expression on my face, then I told her I was going to quit. She then informed me that I had been the 15th
nanny they have hired in a small amount of time. I thought she was joking until she motioned all of the other nannies over and every one of them confirmed
she was right.

She told me her friend quit before I was hired, her friend lied and told the family she had to go to her country because her mother was sick.
I usually stay for 2-3 1/2 years this was my shortest job ever.

I once accepted a job and didn't even last the day. The child was 4 1/2, not potty trained and according to his mom had to be spoon fed fast food while he watched TV. I almost left when she told me that as she sat there feeding him while whispering instructions to me so he could hear the TV. Then at nap time she told me I was to drive around for as long as it takes for him to fall asleep, she told me usually it took 1 to 2 hours! When I refused to do that and insisted on starting to sleep train him, his mom came upstairs to check on us every 5 minutes. After 1 hour of that, I told her I quit and took my stuff and left. Surprisingly the mom mailed me a check for the hours I worked.

Other than that, 4 months was my shortest and 4 1/2 years was my longest.

No the nannies were at the play ground with their kids.
I said one nanny told me I was the 15th nanny this lady
hired. The other nannies agree.

I was in a nanny share and two lesbians joined the group.
One had adopted a little baby, all was well until one of the 2
Kids were going to school. We were looking for another full time
Child to share. Everybody we interviewed the one lesbian didn't
like, after 2 Weeks of only having one income I had enough.

I had the little girl outside playing on the swing, when I told
the one parent that I quit, she clutched her pearl necklace
Like she was having a heart attack. I saw the whole family in
the store once and the one woman didn't even speak.lol

I had one live in job for 2 weeks . I quit after 5 days but the mom begged me to stay for 1 more week so she could get a replacement. It was a huge mistake her verbal abuuse daily became physical.

Thankfully all of my other nanny jobs have been good. A few have been amazing with the nicest bosses.

Our bitchy conniving nanny lasted nine very very long weeks. Her replacement restored my faith in humanity.
