| Today was our nanny's one year anniversary with our family. When she arrived this morning, each of our kids gave her a handmade card. We later gave her a draft contract to review for the following year, which included an 8% raise. This evening, we had dinner at her favorite local restaurant. After dinner, we presented her with a handwritten letter, a small cash bonus and some designer perfume we knew she wanted. She told us she felt really appreciated and was glad to know how much we valued her work. Just sharing a happy story. Good night, all! |
| That's awesome! You sound like great people to work with and I'm sure in return you'll get the continued great service of your nanny. Wish my boss was more like you, I got zero acknowledgement of my one year anniversary! |
Same. Not even sure they could tell you when it was. Or my birthday. Or the fact that I don't celebrate Christmas. Your nanny is lucky to have you, OP. |

This would be such a great story if it were true.

Agree with above. That's quite a brag you gave. I'd be pretty bummed if after working all day I had to go out to dinner with my bosses and THEN AFTER dinner they gave me gifts.
Don't hurt yourself on those backpats, OP. |
| Not a troll and wasn't trying to brag. Just grateful to have a good employee who is a partner to is in raising our kids! |
| That is so wonderful of you! It's the little things that I value the most, not that a raise and a bonus is a little thing. In my 13 years as a nanny I've never even had my year anniversary with a family acknowledged! |
