MB and DB don't want their kids in strollers. Ages are 8 m, 2 yr, 5 y, 7.
I usually wear the baby, and hold the 2 and 5 yrs hands and the 7 yo usually walks by himself next to us. I feel like this is really unsafe. Any nannies BTDT Re: strollers. |

Unless you're walking across very busy roads, it's fine.
I assume they would be against a wagon too? |
| If you had the 2 youngest in a double stroller, you wouldn't have any hands free to hold the older kids hands. At 7 yrs old and at 5 yrs old most kids are trustworthy enough to listen, stop at streets if they are a bit ahead of you, etc. |
| I'm not seeing what the issue is... The 7 year old should be capable of holding one of their younger siblings hands (maybe the 2 yr old?). Or have the 5 yr old & 7 yr old hold hands and walk together in front of you. Unless you're crossing very busy roads it shouldn't be a problem. |

That's crazy. Would NEVER do that with kids who aren't mine.
|
| We are metroing to different places. I think it is unsafe. |
| No way I'd agree to that. You need a double stroller with a strap that attaches to the stroller for the 5 year old to hold. |
|
I would recommend a wagon, but not for the eight month old. What the heck??
These parents are morons. |
|
I'd have the 5 & 7 yr olds holding hands so you're just wearing the baby and holding the toddler's hands.
I have four kids and take the metro all the time - it's no problem. |
I would want a stroller. You also have to carry a diaper bag and your own bag. Too much going on. You could easily lose something or someone in a crowd. |

This seems like an unreasonable demand from the parents.
I'd try for a wagon also. And I'd push back. - MB |
| They have child leashes and ropes you could look into. |
|
You don't need two bags. Get a backpack diaper bag.
You want a different way to transport them when you metro? 4 kids plus a stroller is a much bigger pain that 4 kids. What will you do when elevators are broken? |
I think you are oversimplifying this. I'm the OP and I am expected to do the grocery shopping, doctor visits etc. I also drive, but when we go to places like the zoo, I prefer to metro. |
