Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.
We are planning to hire a nanny three days per week, 9.5 hours per day, so 28.5 hours each week. We plan to pro-rate the benefits and guarantee hours. Our question is: do nannies charge more per hour for part time positions, and if so, what how much more? |
Each nanny has her own way of doing things, so you really need to ask the nanny you hope to hire. Personally, my fees would most likely be the same $25/hr. |
I do charge slightly more per hour for PT depending on the level of benefits offered, and the level of services they require from me. If I will be expected to do a full weeks cooking/meal prep in 2 or 3 days, a full weeks laundry, or any housekeeping, then yes I will charge a slightly higher rate, maybe a dollar or two per hour. |
DS' nanny is part time at 25 hours guaranteed. She charges the same she did when she was full time (she came to us from a friend when they moved). But we don't want Her to so laundry or cook anything beyond DS' meals (and not gourmet at all). She also has vacation, sick and personal days, guaranteed hours, gas reimbursement, and we keep a section of the fridge and pantry stocked for her. |
