It's Saturday morning...

... and I am tired. It was a long, rewarding, exhausting, frustrating, fun, boring, exciting, lonely and physically challenging workweek as a nanny. Less than 48 hours from now and I'll be ready and willing to do it again - but not now. Now my body hurts and I don't want to speak to anyone or even hear my own voice and I don't want anyone to ask anything of me. I may well stay in bed until noon.

Wow...You sound really beat OP.

You sound like you work too hard and too much.

Perhaps being a nanny is too much for you.

Could you be burned out already??!

I'm not OP but sometimes I do think that being a nanny is too hard for me. Physically it's a great job with lots of time outside and lots of running around. But the tedium does get to me as well as the loneliness. My charge is a baby and I too get tired of talking to her all day and get tired of hearing my own voice. Now that she is crawling and eating purees there is no downtime at all - when she is napping I am busy making her baby food and cleaning up afterwards as well as doing her laundry. Being a nanny is a hard job and I honestly don't know if I'm cut out for it.

The fact that you know (and feel) that being a nanny is a hard job is probably why you are cut out for it! If you are doing the job correctly being a nanny IS a hard job.
