Nanny share: One contract or two? RSS feed

Anonymous
I just interviewed for a two child share with separate contracts. This will be my first share if I get it. I would have separate contracts. It seems to make sense because the host family wants some housekeeping. Also, they need more hours. I couldn't think of any reason to object. I am curious, is there anything I should worry about?

sorry for being repetitive in my post!

Make sure your benefits (like PTO) are clearly outlined and the families have approved on another's contracts insofar as they apply to one another. For instance, if Famly A writes a contract giving you two weeks vacation at your discretion and Family B writes two weeks that overlap with theirs...do you get four weeks or do you have to take your two when FamB says so, that kind of thing.

Make sure both contracts specify what will happen if one family chooses to leave the share, since that could potentially leave you with less income than you can live on if there are no protections for you.

If that is the route they want to go, that is fine, but you should also request a share contract outlining the share rules.
