How do families in a nanny share handle mileage reimbursement? The nanny is just going to start to occasionally take the babies out. We will always know when she is taking them out. Do you just split the expenses? What if one mom wants the nanny to bring the babies to her work? Should this be a shared expense? |
just pay Just pay |
Not in nanny share, but I had a little table on a fridge with a list of common places where nanny took kids and nanny just checked off when she went there (obviously with an option to write in an unusual place). In your case, you probably also want to write down when the trip was for both kids enjoyment (eg park, museum, or playground) and those should be split, or at a request of a particular family (eg visit to one mom's work) then only requesting family should pay. |
We've never had a situation where the trip was for one family (and honestly that's a bit strange to take the babies to the other mom's work...?) but we each contribute equally to mileage, and we don't track it especially carefully--we just add a set amount to the weekly fee that is sufficient to cover any trips. |
What are you paying for exactly when you ask the nanny to bring the kids to your office? The $1 in gas? I don't understand what is being discussed here. |
