While I was starting to do laundry today I noticed an awful smell. I started looking and noticed that db had shit his pants and left it in his pants in the dirty laundry bin in the laundry room. It is my job to do the laundry but I am so grossed out. I don't know what to do. Do I just clean it? I'm not even sure how to as there is not a sink in their laundry room. I really feel this is far beyond my job duties as a nanny. However the thought of mentioning it to my employers is just as bad. What should I do and please don't just say that this is why nannies shouldn't do parents laundry.

Shit your own pants and leave it for him to clean.

I only do the kids laundry but if I were in your shoes, I would honestly just leave them on the floor next to the washer and do everything else. They will get the hint and I HIGHLY doubt they will say anything to you about it.

Beyond disgusting. Some employers are truly pigs - worse than pigs.

No, cleaning adult fecal matter out of adult clothing is NOT part of your job.

I would say something about it. If I'm paying my nanny to wash the families clothes and she left my shit stained underwear on the floor of the laundry room we would definitely be having a sit down talk.

Just out of curiosity what would you say to your nanny if she left it there? This is not shit stained underwear this is a pair of pants with a massive amount of diarrhea still inside. I can't just put it in the washing machine and hope for the best. Soaking and scrubbing are needed and this is adult feces.

Shit stained and full of shit are two different things.

If you leave the shit in your underwear you cannot expect the nanny to clean it. Period.

OP, you're fine to just leave it or you can run the pants alone on a sanitizing cycle in the washer. If that damages their washing machine, well...DB should have soaked them before leaving them for you to deal with.

Can't you just dump them out into the toilet and flush it? Then wash the underwear in the washer. It's not that hard! Have you no common sense nanny?

Leave in a bag and tell MB. No, you do not do this and it is unconscionable that the pig db would leave this filth for you.

Crusted diarrhea can't be dumped into a toilet like a turd can. Have you no reading comprehension PP?

OMG. I cannot imagine.

I'm an MB and this would never happen in our household. Dear god. There isn't one of us who would expect anyone else in the house, let alone the nanny, to clean this.

THat's just disgusting.

I'd leave it and tell the MB that there was something you just didn't feel comfortable handling.

I'm so sorry OP. It's this kind of behavior that gives all the rest of us on the parental side a bad name! I can't imagine who would behave such a way.

I have run that scenario in my head all day. The problem is db is a big guy and his pants are very large. The shit went completely through the underwear and are all over the pants as well. If I were to try to get it out in the toilet I think I would make an ever bigger mess and get the shit all over the floor and myself in the process as the entire pair of pants on the inside were his butt was is covered. The toilet also has very little water in it to begin with.

Then the nanny should just throw it in the washer! It's not that hard to do your job nanny.

If it was just underwear is throw them in the trash but since it's pants also, I'd bag them and tell them, preferably MB who will be mortified if she had any sense, that you don't do that. I'd probably cease and desist adult laundry entirely at that point.

Adult feces is not supposed to go through washing machines, which is why cloth diapers can go straight into the washer up until the baby begins eating solids; then the feces have to be dumped/scraped into the toilet before washing. But clearly you're too important to do your own laundry so I understand why you might not know that.
