Nanny is texting when she drives with our daughter.. When confronted, she said : I pull over when I text. Yeah.. Sure.

Would you fire her for such a thing?

I actually do pull over when I am
Driving and the MB texts. I have a different
Ring tone for her. I live in California
So there is almost always a shopping center
Or neighborhood to pull into

PP here
Texting or any distracted driving is unacceptable!
Or ask her to install the texting app that disables the phone
When car is moving. It's meant for teens but could benifit
So many adults

If you saw her doing it then fire her. Its illegal in most states and highly dangerous regardless of the legality.

If you know for sure she is texting while driving I would definitely let her go. It's just one of those things that is so unsafe it warrants immediate firing (right up there with not supervising around water, leaving hot drinks or pans in reach). That is so dangerous, she could very easily be in an accident with your baby, you can't risk it. I'm a full-time nanny and I keep my phone in the diaper bag while driving. Even if the baby's parent texts me I wait til we're home or parked at our destination to reply. No reasonable MB would want or expect a reply while driving.

I'm a nanny and I agree 100%. You need to tell her she is no longer allowed to text when she is in the car - period - or she will be fired.

Do you really need to ask?

Nanny here. I only text, or look at a text when pulled over or stopped at a light. I do not need to be told that I am not allowed to use the phone when in the car. I also don't talk and drive when the children are with me. Those things should be made clear to her. You need to be able to have full trust in your nanny, especially when it comes to big things such as safety.

I still don't get how anyone can text and concentrate on driving at the same time.

And a child's ..... Your child's safety is compromised at the same time OP!!

Fire her. Now.

Siri reads me my texts and I reply to them through Siri or I pull over.

Op how did you see your nanny doing so? Why didn't you call or text her asking her to pull over so you could address it immediately?

Fire her for cause. She is endangering your children.
