Present for nanny's baby shower RSS feed

My nanny has invited me to her baby shower. She has always been very generous with my children - buying them gifts for every occasion and "just because". I have no idea how much money I should spend on her gift. Suggestions???

I would suggest buying a gift in the same range as you would normally buy. I invited my employers to my wedding because I enjoy them, and they are a big part of my life, not because I expected a huge gift.

Agree with PP. Are you friends with nanny beyond her work for you (you tell her about your day, she is invited to family events sometimes, you plan to keep in touch when she is no longer with you)? If so, buy a gift similar to what you would buy for a friend. If you are more distant/professional, then buy equivalent to what you would spend on a coworker.

I would buy one of the bigger gifts off
of her registry.

Given she's given your kids lots of gifts, I'd get a bigger gift for her. Maybe spend 50% more than you would for someone else... If you'd normally spend $30, go $50, If you'd normally spend $50, go $75.

+1. She has been buying gifts for her employer via the children, I think you should buy her something nice for her shower.

I'd buy a larger ticket item off the registry - stroller, pack and play, carseat, etc... And maybe something nice just for her personally also.

Is this a serious question, OP? You have kids, and you likely had a shower or two, and you can't figure out what to give her?

If she has a registry, pick something off it. I disagree that you should pick something very expensive (unless you want to). Pick something you want.

If she has no registry, pick out some cute outfits, or onesies, or a basket of useful baby things or a diaper genie...whatever you want.

Spend what you want.

It's up to you really.

I cannot really put a dollar amount on it because I do not know where you live or how much you pay her.

Perhaps go to where she is registered at and see what items she has listed. Maybe buy something in between...say about $75-100.
