Get help from agency vs deal directly with nanny RSS feed

Anonymous
I'm the OP of the net pay vs gross pay thread. I've been using a small local agency to find a nanny. I always email her feedback after an interview. I told her how much we liked this nanny and that I was calling her references now. She said she would get feedback from her to gauge her interest. Should I tell the agency that the nanny wanted to know her net pay and explain that I can't do that or is it better to deal with the nanny directly. Those of you who have worked with agencies in the past what did you do? Nannies do you prefer to have an agency help with that kind of thing or would you rather deal directly with the family?

I would enlist the help of the agency. They can help you, or at least point you in the right direction.

As a nanny, I'd rather get the info from the agency because of assume the info a correct and that they explained it to you as well. Dealing directly with you I'd wonder if you got the info right.

Deal directly with the nanny on this one.

If you're already working with an agency then I would contact them, reiterate your hourly salary and number of hours per week, and let the agency talk to her regarding how taxes are taken out, etc.
