I'm leaving my part time nanny position to a full time after 5 years.Should I ask the new family to sign a small contract before telling my boss that i'm leaving them?
Just to make sure they are hiring me? |
| Yes. You should always have a contract spelling out the agrees upon terms of your employment. |
| If you've been offered and accepted the position then yes, you should have a working agreement with your new nanny family. It should specify your start date, hours, pay, other benefits, responsibilities pertaining to the child(ren), household responsibilities, household rules, emergency contacts, and an inclement weather plan. |
| Unless the contract specifies a length of employment then they are not bound to do anything. They could retract the offer or fire you after a day. |
