I am new to the nanny search in the DC metro area. Any information on what the going rate for nannies in this area would be greatly appreciated! Also how much do nanny shares generally cost per family? Finally, what is the average annual paid vacation time in dc\md?

For a share, rate is $8.50-10 per hour (per family) to start

vacation time: nanny typically gets 2 weeks paid vacation, and 5 days paid sick. With the vacation time, in some cases the family chooses one week and the nanny chooses the other. In nanny shares, it's more typical for the nanny to choose both weeks.
