Is there a desire for this type of part time schedule?

Forgive the newbie question, please. I'm just starting to think about summer care for my 7 year old son. I'd only need care from noon to 5pm, three days a week. Are there caregivers, like college students perhaps, who want such limited hours for summer only? I don't want a high school kid because my child has peanut allergies, and I want someone more mature, who feels comfortable with administering medication if necessary.

And if there are, what is an appropriate rate? I though $15 an hour, but I have no idea if that's too high, too low, or what.

I think it sounds like a great job for a student or someone else looking for part time work. I think the rate sounds right on as well. Best of luck
