For 2 babies, how much do you pay each for a nanny share?

location? Hours per week?

OP it all has to do with where you live, your education level/experience, hours per week (pt vs ft), what are they having you do, any light housekeeping outside of childcare? Etc. It isn't just a set answer.

$15/hr for one child and $20 for two children is very, very typical.

^ but it still depends on where you are. My area has lots of people who work as nannies but few families that emoy them. Our nanny has stated she values the lack of a commute even at a trade off of money to some extent. We pay less than the rate PP quoted but also use 50 hrs a week between the 2 share partners (contract covers the full range of hours needed at the same rate - allowing for OT of course).

Some nannies charge $25-30/hr. Of course you can easily get tons of mediocre sitters, and pay $15.

Maybe if OP is from DC but many nannies from out of state frequent this site, myself included, and where i'm from you rarely see $20/hour shares, even for 2 children.

You try saying that on every thread but most of us have never met nannies making $30/hour.. That's VERY rare. Infact, $25/hour is rare unless you're a very educated, high end nanny working for a high profile family. Stop giving false hope and be realistic.

In DC shares range from $15-$20 gross, average or about $700-$900 a week. The number of hours and the location makes a big difference.

$$ does not equal quality where nannies are concerned. There are a good number of nannies out there asking for higher rates that are not finding them. We interviewed a few recent college grads with no experience, preschool teachers who just wanted more money, and nannies that were clearly just hoping to find the jackpot rate. None of these nannies had a solid work history or interviewed well. We also interviewed a good number of very qualified, experienced nannies asking for market rates ($14-$15 average). Just pass on the crazies and hire the more serious candidates.
