WHAT'S THE GOING RATE FOR NANNIES IN VIRGINIA? (Alexandria, Arlington areas) RSS feed

Anonymous
Hello Ladies - Interviewing for a position in VA, and wanted to know the rate for nannies, lowest to highest or less experience to over 15 years experience? It's for a nanny share 55 hours a week, but it will be 2 infants 3 days and 1 infant the other 2 days. Would also like to know the rate if just one family 1 child for let's say a 50 hr week in VA?
Thanks

One infant 50 hours -- $15-17 per hour base rate. Time and a half past 40 hours.

Share -- $16-20 per hour base rate. Time and a half after 40.

My rates start at $25/hr for one child in the DC area. Everyone's different.

Pretty sure he/she would not make up their salary. That is pretty par for the course in DC.

Of course she is making up her salary on this anonymous board and her alleged rate is not at all par for the course in DC.

Nice try, though.

Although I do believe that some nannies make that much, it's not "par for the course." How many families do you think are out there that could even afford to spend this much? For a typical nine-hours a day schedule M-F, that would be almost $70,000 a year after overtime and taxes just for the nanny's salary.
