Hello Ladies - Interviewing for a position in VA, and wanted to know the rate for nannies, lowest to highest or less experience to over 15 years experience? It's for a nanny share 55 hours a week, but it will be 2 infants 3 days and 1 infant the other 2 days. Would also like to know the rate if just one family 1 child for let's say a 50 hr week in VA?
Thanks |
| this has been posted a million times. go through the past posts. $15-20/hour is the norm |

One infant 50 hours -- $15-17 per hour base rate. Time and a half past 40 hours.
Share -- $16-20 per hour base rate. Time and a half after 40. |
| My rates start at $25/hr for one child in the DC area. Everyone's different. |
Haha right. And I have a private jet that I take to work. |
Pretty sure he/she would not make up their salary. That is pretty par for the course in DC. |
Of course she is making up her salary on this anonymous board and her alleged rate is not at all par for the course in DC. Nice try, though. |
| Why the caps, OP? |
"Alleged"? You are one sick puppy. "If I can't afford a top-notch nanny, no one should." |

| OP here, thanks for those who gave me an answer w/out the added bullshit! |
Although I do believe that some nannies make that much, it's not "par for the course." How many families do you think are out there that could even afford to spend this much? For a typical nine-hours a day schedule M-F, that would be almost $70,000 a year after overtime and taxes just for the nanny's salary. |
