So looking on sitter city and came across this ad..

The Basics

Name:Susanne W.Title:10 weeks Aupair in Vienna/EuropeDescription:Hello,I am the mother of two 4 year old twins, Johnny and Carina.Part of the year we always travel to Austria. My children are Austrians but their Dad is American. I would like to raise them bilingual that is why I am looking for a nice California lady to come to Austria with us for 10 weeks as our Aupair.I am looking for an Aupair fromNovember 15 - End of JanuaryThese are the work conditions:flight will be paid200 Euros per month pocket moneyyour own roomwireless internetNetflix TV in your roomfood and beveragehealth and accident insurancepossibility of two long weekends off to travel through EuropeGerman classes through a German DVDpublic transport pass(but pls. not that this is not a travel nanny position were you would earn more than I listed here. Its more suitable for young ladies who would like to have the chance to see Europe for no cost.).................valid passport30-33 hours a week(Babysitting and teaching the children English, as well as about 2 hours a day for household releated tasks)I am looking for a nice, easygoing fun girl with an interest in living abroad and seeing Europe. I like dependablity, punctuality, neatness and a good sense of humor, and since my primary goal is to teach English to my children I am looking for a native speaker of English.Looking forward to hearing from you!

At first it seemed great, but than they leave on the 15 (kinda soon!)
Than the money is only a little over 600 (200 euros per month so give or take 500 for 10 weeks)
Plus they want household task aka housekeeping.

Why do people think like this. I'm sure they'll find someone, but really!!

I think its a scam.
Its not reallya a family looking for a nanny, for one thing, who names their kids in a nanny search?

I find the part where they ask for a nice California lady to be quite strange . . .why do they want someone from California instead of just a good nanny/sitter? Does make it sound strange.

The ad is strange but I don't think that part is particularly strange. If they live in California they might want to hire someone local.

It sounds like the mom, who wrote the ad, is not American. Maybe "California" is just generic American to her.

Scam. The grammar and punctuation mistakes give it away, as well as naming the children in the ad. No parent would do that.

THIS IS TOTALLY A SCAM!

Obvious scam. Report it to Sittercity.

They will be asking you for copies of your documents and other personal information next. Agree with previous pps to report them. This is fraud and they will be trying to make money off of you one way or another.

Putting aside the fact that it's definitely a scam, I would be interested in this position for the travel alone, money be damned.

Well English isn't her first language although I know she types like a scammer. But wouldn't a scammer make it more appealing (not adding the house work and increasing the rate).
