Sporadic Babysitter?

| Cross-posting from the General Forum. I'm a freelance musician and teacher so my schedule is kind of random and unpredictable, but it's mostly afternoons, maybe 5-10 a month (total estimation). I'm not sure what I'm looking for in terms of getting help. I could give times and dates a month out and I can be flexible. Is there such a thing as this kind of help? A college student with free time in the afternoon? A nanny-share situation? I'd like to avoid hiring someone full-time just to reserve their time, though God knows I could use the help around the house even when I AM home. I've never looked for professional help before, so please point me in the right direction. Thanks! |

| sounds like you need to compile a list of about 5 people who have part time schedules or work on call and might be able to help you out when you need it. I've done this type of work and worked for several families this way for quite a while. You can make it work but you need to have several people in your pool and you need to call them all at least once or twice a month so they'll feel like you're worth the time if that makes sense. |
