Online sites are great for volume. We advertised our job on care.com and sitter city. It was full time, well above average rate, legal, with guaranteed hours, PTO, bonus and raise schedule. So, not part time, but, IMO, a pretty attractive job. We got literally hundreds of applicants, 95% of which didn't pass a cursory screening. But, we found about a dozen worth an in-depth phone call, four worth interviewing in person, and one great nanny.
All this to say, I think it's a great resource, Which doesn't mean you aren't going to have to weed through a lot of inappropriate and awful jobs. But, the volume is there, and you only need one good match.
