Fav quote from article....

Few statistics exist on nanny salaries, primarily because most of these workers – regardless of their level of education – are paid under the table.

Thank you, OP, for sharing this. It puts to rest our fantasy market rate control freak poster on this forum.

My favorite quote from this article is the idiot who implied that her superior nannying skills are what helped teach her 17 month old charge to walk a few months ago.

Good call, 1:40.

Research shows that "helping" babies and toddlers "do" anything like that actually impedes their natural development. Just like putting babies in "walkers" and now in those terrible "entertainment centers" (no more tumbling down the staircase) CAUSES delayed development.

Proof of how much of what they teach you, is wrong. But since the young woman and her young employers have so little first-hand experience, they have no clue.

I must add, however, that I do get the sense from the article that the child is truly loved by her nanny and the parents, and that's really that most important thing every child requires.

We haven't heard much (if anything) about fictional "market rate nanny wages" since OP posted this article.

Every employer knows about the existence of market rates. There are countless threads here asking about them and, in The DMV area, they are pretty consistent.

I think people have just stopped bothering to play into your trolling. You are a relentless bully.
