Need Advice on Nanny Rates

We’re moving to the DC area soon and are looking for a home in Northwest DC, Bethesda, Kensington. I have a 3 year old and a 7 month old. We’re interested in hiring a nanny, the 3 year old will likely go to preschool, either full or part time. What is the going rate for a nanny to work 40 hours for an infant? What would the additional cost be of also caring for the 3 year old in case we can’t get him into a preschool we like? We’ve been planning the move for a while so we’re on lots of preschool wait lists.

| $10-28/hr., average being maybe 16-18. It really depends on who you want and what her rates are. |

| $16-18/hr is a good rate for this area and you'll have many qualified candidates to choose from, OP. |
