I'm a bilingual us citizen, working as a nanny for ten years. I'm currently looking for a part-time, but I can't find the right one. Do you think maybe I'm charging to much? For one child, I'm charging $15 on hour, for two, I'm charging $17 on hour and for three to four children, I'm charging $ 18-20. What can I do ? |
charge less? As an MB in Arlington, those are high rates for me. |
Your rates actually sound low to me... |
Do you drive? From this board it seems normally MBs are the ones hard pressed to find good PT matches. If you PT availability does not match the hours most jobs are offering though then you have a smaller pool of jobs so may need to seek a lower rate. We need more details to help you. |
Your rates are fine. They might be high for some people, but there are less experienced cheaper nannies out there for them. You don't need to be a fit for everyone. Is English your first language? My suggestion would be to polish your presentation. Have a resume and cover letter, be sure to proofread them and any other communications you send carefully, and know why you are worth the rate you charge and be able to articulate it. Good luck! |
I think your rates sound fine. |
That sounds about right to me. I'm an evening nanny in North Arligton and I make $20 for 3 kids.
I made $15 for one, $17 for two and $20 after the third was born. I think part time pays a higher hourly rate because there aren't usually any benefits offered. That being said, if I found a family that was a great fit, I would be willing to negotiate my rate. |
$20 for 3 kids? oh my gosh you are killing yourself
|
I charge $20 for 1 child |
I make 20 why?
i am legal, bilingual, crafty, clean driving record, smart, loving, funny, love out doors, come early, leave late, cook yummy, love to read, color, play, inteligent, caring warm personality now you know why |
I would pay you $30. |
I would pay you $16/hr.
Being legal, crafty, cooking yummy, etc etc is the minimum I'd expect. |
