Nanny watching porn on my laptop? RSS feed

Anonymous
I am a single mother with two children under 3. I have had this particular nanny (wont give out names, just incase) for 7 months and she appears to be respectable and professional. I've always allowed her access to my laptop but I told her from the gecko that I'd prefer she only use it during her down time. I don't check up on what she's doing and what websites she has visited until today because...

I was starting to type a website URL and seen a name that was clearly porn and when I noticed that I went to the history and wow, multiple porn websites in recent and past history. Not everyday but it still creeps me out and I really don't know what to do. I'm sure she's not viewing it in view of my children but the fact that she is viewing it on my laptop during working hours so frequently concerns me.

As a parent, WWYD? I have given her the rest of the week off and asked a relative to come in. I may be overreacting but I just can't get over it and I can't look at her and I am very uncomfortable with the idea of her 'getting off' on my dime.

OP again - I hired my nanny right after splitting from my live-in long term boyfriend/fiance. No one uses my laptop regularly except nanny and I no she's the one who has viewed the websites.

Lol gecko? If you're for real, which I strongly doubt, why don't you just ask her to keep her surfing on your laptop rated G. It'd be uncomfortable for you, but 10 times as much for her. It would never ever happen again, or at least she'd be more careful about deleting her history.

I would FIRE her. If it were any other job she would be fired instantly. The fact that you even need to ask is weird to me.

I'm sure many people, babysitters included, view rated R material on other peoples computers not realizing websites they have viewed are easy to access. You have way to much time on your hands as I'm sure every topic has been brought up more then once on DCUM.

The phrase you are trying for is "get go," not gecko.

I dont get trolls. Honestly. Why would someone enjoy making this up?? I mean, I believe it's a troll, but it's just too weird. The only reason I could possibly see to explain why one would fib on a post is if he/she wanted to test reactions to a certain behavior or situation that he/she has used or been in, regarding her real-life MB/nanny/DC/etc.

So in this case, it weirds me out either way. Yuck.
