I'm a nanny on "The Hill" in DC- went to Lincoln Park today just to sit with my charges since it was so nice! Group of nannies all sitting together on benches on other side, one in particular, who had 2 seemed to be toddler age children sat there while one child just kept screaming because wanted to get out of the stroller and eventually, the other started screaming crying because probably tired or hungry. What gets me is, she just sat there because she wanted to continue to talk with friends, obviously not wanting to leave!

I think this is really a shame, because the nanny job market is pretty tough right now for those of us who really enjoy it, because there are many who take the job, but really don't even care for it! So sad for all of us who really enjoy children and want to respect them, their parents and the schedules these children need to stick too!

Were they hispanic nannies? (Not making a racial generalization to those who are going to jump on me for this comment) I only ask because i have seen a group of nannies acting similarly in that area and they were hispanic. Just wondering if they're the same ones I saw.

OP here-to 19:04, they weren't and it really doesn't make a difference. I will have to say though, from my previous position in Chevy Chase DC to The Hill, the nannies here are very uppity and not very friendly..I miss my nanny associates in NW, but hoping to meet some new ones here!
