Nanny Needs Advice:
Mothers are allowed to breastfeed kids in the music class my charge and I attend. There are 3 mothers in the class that are best friends and they breastfeed one another's kids. It was shocking to me at first but after class today a mother complained to the instructor saying it's gross and asked that mothers only breastfeed their biological children in the class. Should I speak up in support of the mothers or just keep quiet.

Keep quiet because there is nothing wrong, kinky, yes.

If it doesn't bother you, say so to the instructor.

Why does anyone care. Really.

That's gross...I'm perfectly fine with moms feeding their children during classes but feeding eachothers?? Wow. Is this real?

That is something that should be adressed it it's making the other moms uncomfortable.

It would be great if you spoke up. The instructor has one person's opinion. If you feel differently, it would be helpful for the instructor to have another opinion.

Wow. It wouldn't bother me at all to witness this, but...wow. What on earth would possess these moms to start passing babies around for a little communal suckling? Is there some theory behind it--like trying to give the babies a wider range of antibodies or something? Are they really just playing musical boobies for giggles or are two of them pinch-hitting for a third who is temporarily unable to nurse for some reason? I don't know that it's gross (although I suppose if one gets thrush they all will), but it does make me wonder what else the gals are sharing.

Stay out of it. It is a bit weird to do it in public when the mother is around, but their choice.

I wouldn't be bothered by it at all- I'd be impressed!

I think it's great for the kids- they'll get different antibodies, are less likely to get sick, and can worry less if one mom has a temporary dip in supply.

I guess it might be a little odd if the kids are 3+ and doing this, but really, if it works for them then nobody should be causing a fuss. They wouldn't complain if one of the moms bottle fed the others child.

I'd speak up in support of the moms.
