Yes, I looked through past posts, but they are holiday/birthday/etc suggestions.
I have two charges, a 13 year old boy and 11 year old girl. Employed with the family since 2007 and I will probably never work with a family as nice, thoughtful, generous, classy, and so many other qualities. I have been tearing up these past few weeks just thinking about this. I bought separate cards for the kids, and one card for the parents. I would either like to get one family gift or a gift for the kids plus a gift for the parents. $50 or under would be ideal. Any suggestions appreciated! |
A really nice framed photo of all of you (you with the whole family)
Will you stay in touch? Maybe a camera for their computer so they can skype with you? For the kids - maybe some stationary and stamped envelopes so they can write to you (and you promise to write back). A plant or tree for their yard (one that's hardy and will last) For the parents I honestly would think that a heartfelt letter/card would mean as much as any item that you could give them. For the kids I think something that helps them remember fun times w/ you - photo albums, cds of music you listened to together, etc... Are there any family traditions that you were part of that you could get ideas from? If they entertain/have a lot of parties you can get coolers that are engraved w/ their names, or one of those big beverage dispensers or something along those lines. |
Love the PPs suggestion.
Another gift idea would be passes to a local attraction - amusement park, water park, whatever they're into - that you can take them to some weekend down the line. It's a nice way of letting them know you'd like to stay in their lives in a mentoring capacity even if your role as their nanny is over. |
NP. love the stationary idea!!! Kids are so excited to get letters in the mail usually.
Digital frame with pictures of them through the years installed on it? |
