Planning to hire a housekeeper for 16-20 hours per week, 3 or 4 days. She'll do all cleaning, laundry, and organizing/straightening, probably some cooking and very occasionally watch a child. What's a fair rate for NWDC or close-in MoCo? |
Ask your neighbors for recommendations or have you already found who you want? |
This is a nanny forum, not a housekeeper forum. |
Ask on the parent forum, OP. Good luck to you. |
$5 per hour sounds good. Cleaning doesn't require any skill. |
Ha, ha! |
OP $15-$20 should be fine. Housekeepers sometimes make more than nannies as the work is more difficult. |
True when your kid stays asleep... |
$15-20 per hour, provided that she is your employee and not the employer of a company that is licensed, bonded, and insured. In the latter case, expect $20-25 per hour, because you need to factor in the company's insurance and payroll tax burdens. |
