Montgomery County, slightly outside the beltway.
2 kids -- one toddler, one infant
45 hours a week guaranteed, $17/hour, overtime paid for those 5 hours
2 weeks vacation, 1 at MBs choice, 1 nanny choice
All federal holidays paid
Annual bonus of 1 week's pay
Annual raise


Responsibilities are childcare, light housekeeping related to kids (pick-up kid mess, make them food, clean up after meals, 1-2 loads of kid laundry a week if time permits, and emptying dishwasher 1-2 times a week). Also some driving to activities, reimbursed at IRS rate.

How'd I do?

Yep that sounds like a great package. You should have no trouble finding a great nanny!

Sounds like a great package OP. One suggestion (speaking as an MB), you might not want to guarantee the annual bonus and raise in the posting. Those should be based on performance (IMO) and not just a given. So you could say "possibilities for annual raises and/or bonus based on performance and tenure" - or something along those lines. That preserves the option of not paying a bonus and/or a raise if you don't feel it's merited, or if your nanny's tenure is long enough to hit a ceiling beyond which you can't guarantee annual raises.

But you should have tons of very qualified candidates to choose from - it's a very competitive package.

I agree with all of the above (as a nanny). I've never taken a position that guaranteed bonuses, only stated that there was the opportunity for annual bonuses and there would be a yearly raise review which gave us the opportunity to negotiate a raise based on my performance and their changing needs. That should be completely adequate for any candidates you're considering.
