Hello All -
I am very new to the forum, so new that I'm still trying to figure out your acronyms! I am finishing up my 1st Trimester (1 more week left yesssah); and while I have a number of things nailed down (because I'm a planner), the biggest thing me and my love are worried about is Child care. We are still weighing the pros and cons of Nanny vs. Daycare, but are leaning towards to Nanny Care. As of right now, we believe a Nanny share for a 3 month old infant, (no cooking, minimal cleaning) would be ideal for us. My question for the group is, when should we begin this search with both a participating family and then with a nanny? How do you find families that are interested in nanny shares and is there a contract drawn up for them as well (I'd imagine there would be, but want to get a sense of what is standard)? What is typically the total cost of a nanny share (this would include the total that both families pay including taxes for the area) I'd also like to thank you in advance for all the information on this site, the resources on here have answered a number of questions, or pointed out things that I had not initially thought of! ![]() |
MB in a nanny share here with another baby that is 5 weeks younger than my own. I started looking for a share partner when my baby was about a month old, and then we and the other family started searching for and interviewing nannies about one month before we wanted the nanny to start. You can start looking for a partner now if you like (though I think it is still too early), but you won't want to start your nanny search until maybe one to two months out because many candidates who you interview won't want to wait more than a few weeks before starting. |
