Hi -
Just curious to hear what the going rate is for a nanny share is in NW DC. The share involves two infants in the same building. Thanks for your insight. |
how many hours per week? |
40 - 45 hours per week |
Like anything else, it mostly depends on what you want and can afford. The more experienced nanny should know how to do an outstanding job, and will cost more. The less experienced nanny will require frequent direction, but save you lots of $. Rates generally range from minimum wage, to 30/hr. |
$18-22/hr is a safe range for an excellent, infant and/or multiples-experienced, nanny. Around $16-18 will get you someone with less experience (who may be just as good, but will not have the references to convince you of it upfront). |
Find the person you want, and simply ask. Most of the people you meet, will not be up to the standards of most parents. |
+1, although I personally don't know anyone who pays more than $20 or less than $18 ($9 or $10 per family) for an infant share. |
We pay $18 for a wonderful nanny in a share. |
