I saw this moms post in the MD Nanny Search, she is looking for a nanny for 3 infant all 4months below..
What do you think is the outcome if this situation? 3sets if parents to deal with. 3 different baby needs. Nanny would never get any break, (bathroom or lunch) I'm jut curious what other nanny thinks about this situation. |
Sorry for the typo...
*of *just |
not a good idea. No benefit over daycare since same ratio and all the downsides that come with being an employer of 1 person.
3 kids in a share can work but i see zero benefit to having 3 infants in it. |
I've done it. 2 12-month olds and 1 18-month old. I did all baby laundry and cloth diapers, as well as prepare their meals. There were days where I did not sit once. 18-month old took 1 half hour nap, which was used to clean up the gigantic mess, fold laundry, prep meals, and stuff food in my mouth as I did it. I was paid $24/hour which was great considering I was 22 and had only 2 years of experience. In order for it to work the nanny would need to be high energy, extremely organized, and have great communication skills. |
Wouldn't appeal to me. Way too difficult. |
With apologies, that is COMPLETELY different from having three, unrelated, 4-month-olds in a share together. Which is a terrible idea. |
I realized that after I posted. Oh well. |
Sounds terrible to me. It would be like taking care of triplets with 6 parents to deal with. Three babies is hard for anyone and add in the all the different parents and it would be too much for most people. |
Sounds brutal - not just from the three baby standpoint but three sets of parents/bosses also? Yikes.
And not ideal from the parents' perspective either IMO. |
30$ an hour maybe ![]() |
This is a scenario where I think $30/hr makes sense! (I'm an MB.) But I also don't think I'd consider this a great option for childcare. I'd not be willing to sacrifice attention to my child just for a deal on childcare. Plus I would assume the nanny would burn out fast. |
I'm the nanny who did a 3 child share. I don't think I'd do it again for less than $30/hour, which at the rate of $10/family there's little benefit to having 3 kids vs. 2 unless the families REALLY like the idea of the kids being together during the day. |
Huge downside to this is that it would be very difficult for the nanny to get out and about with three babies. I have twins and it is challenging. I always thank God I don't have triplets. I could not imagine how difficult it would be to take them out and help them practice different skills on the playground, etc. Not a good idea. |
