I have three nanny/attendant references
A handful of babysitting references also. My CPR and first aid A cna license. A negative tb test I've worked with kids from newborn to fourteen including severely disabled children. I speak only english and am an American citizen. I only work on the books. Are there seminars and classes I can take that would make worth more? I plan to start back to school this fall for a child related field. I also plan to get my med certificate this summer's. I'm making 12-15 and would like be worth more like 18-22. My family I work for is moving so I'm wondering what I can offer to be worth that much. As I job search. |
What town are you in? |
Currently Pwc but I'm looking in DC, Arlington, falls church, etc area. I'm fairly open since I intend to move closer in anyway. |
What's pwc? |
How old are you?
|
For the $18-22 range you'll probably need at least a college degree, 5+ years experience, and to present yourself well. Tutoring experience, knowing a musical instrument, and/or being skilled in sports or arts also helps. |
What is your opinion based on? |
This advice is not my real world experience. I think she's just trying to discourage you, OP. What ages do you most enjoy, OP? |
Prince William County |
28 |
OP, are you looking to watch only one child, or would you be open to a share? |
Probably 0-8 But also very much enjoy the special needs kids. I'm comfortable with feedings tubes, trachs, etc.... I've had kids with all kinds of disabilities and really lived most of them. |
I would be fine with a share. Though I have not worked one. I have worked with multiple children. |
I have all of those things, but only one degree, and currently make $21/hour, 2 children under 2. You sound very qualified OP, I think you need to work on how you market yourself. You should definitely be making $15/hour minimum. |
I have about half of those things and am at 25/hr dc area. It really depends on what the parents want and can afford. |
