Not a thread to name drop, but how did you deal with paparazzi?

Shouldn't this be in off topic? Nothing to do with nannying at all.

Than go tell Jeff to move it?

This does have to do with nannying. The OP is asking if anyone has nannied for a celebrity, not if they personally know a celebrity or have ever met a celebrity.

My nanny worked for Bruce Springsteen for a brief time. She said he was very nice and a dedicated, cool Dad.

Did a trial weekend with Heidi Klum and Seal when they were still together about year and a half ago.

It was a horrible job!

I did a trial period about 2 weeks ago with a film family (father was a popular film director).

Chose to NOT take the job. The kids were spoiled little brats and the family was horrible to work for. Never again.

Katherine Heigl. She's great to work for and really sweet but it was a very demanding job. As for paparazzi, it honestly wasn't as bad as I am sure others may experience. Just go about your business as usual. Luckily I didn't have any bad experiences or incidents. It's cool to say I've done it but honestly think celebrity jobs are overrated. It is tough and I enjoy my work with a "normal" family much more, now.

Was offered a live-in position by a power celebrity couple in NYC. Turned it down because of unsatisfactory live-in conditions for the nanny. I couldn't believe the agency even sent me there, as if nothing mattered just because they were famous. I think both the agency and the couple were in shock when I didn't jump at such an "opportunity".
I accepted another offer on Fifth Ave. that gave me a separate studio apartment on a different floor in the same building. They already had a FT live-in housekeeper with them.

What made the job demanding?

Hours, lack of vacation/downtime because of travel.

It's my understanding that high profile employers = very demanding hours and travel schedule.

Yes - as a professional. Very demanding. Part psychiatrist, part accountant (in that case). Very self-centered client....

I worked for a B-list singer/actress with a very A-list sister. While I was in her employ she was filming a movie that never made it to theaters. She was an awesome mother and really wanted to be involved. Sad how many hours she was away from her child for a movie that won't garner any attention

Then I worked with a very D-list celebrity and outside of me placing the baby at her side, practically removing her boob and latching baby she refused to feed the child. One day she disappeared and I had to take a taxi (with no car seat for baby) to the grocery store for formula. I've worked for normal families (no agencies) since then. Love it. I think DC is a great city to work for high profile without the craziness of Hollywood.
